Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging

Every morning from Malaysia to Tokyo to London, people walk into their office buildings, grab a cuo of tea or coffee, and head to their office. They then log into their email to check their mail messages. Afterwards they pick up their phones and call into their voicemail. Finally they will open up another windows for fax server to check for faxes. It's been this way for decades—different system managing different types of communications.

Exchange Unified Messaging aims to break down the traditional walls between disjointed messaging systems, offering a revolutionary advance in the way we communicate and collaborate.

Unified messaging involves the integration of two disparate systems--your Microsoft Exchange messaging system and your physical telephony system. As a result, you can combine voicemail, fax capabilities, and e-mail messaging into a single mailbox. Implementing this may seem like a daunting task, but it's easier than you think.

With Outlook features for Exchange Unified Messaging, UM-enabled users can:
    · Listen to voice messages without changing their context to  
      another application.
    · View all their voice mail in one location.
    · Distinguish voice and fax messages from e-mail messages
      within their individual Inboxes using new icons. This includes
      unique notifications for new e-mail, voice, and fax messages.
    · Determine whether a voicemessages has already been
      played.
    · Reply to a voice message withe-mail when the sender's
      contact information is known.
    · Outlook Voice Access (OVA) where you can get full access
      to voicemail, email, and calendar.
