Promoting inclusion and raising RM500,000 through “June Run for Compassion 2023”
Petaling Jaya, 16 JUNE 2023– SRKK Group and the Malaysia Independent Living Association for Disabled (MILAD) have teamed up to organize the “June Run for Compassion 2023” fundraising campaign. This event aims to raise RM500,000.00 to build a Community House in the Klang Valley that will provide a safe and supportive environment for disabled individuals.
The “June Run for Compassion 2023” event, scheduled for 25 June 2023 at 7.30 am, will take place at Dataran Boulevard MBP, Jalan Yong Shook Lin. The event aims to gather 500 participants who will come together to support this truly worthy cause. The run will feature five categories, including 5km Men’s Open, 5km Women’s Open, 3km Senior Citizens, 3km Fun Run, and 3km Disabled.
Highlighting the challenges faced by disabled individuals in finding suitable wheelchair-friendly homes, Pastor Sia Siew Chin, President of MILAD, emphasized the importance of the Community House project in providing a stepping stone towards independent living

Our vision is to create a world where every disabled individual can pursue their goals, regardless of their circumstances. The Community House project is a crucial step towards achieving this vision by providing a space where disabled individuals can thrive and achieve their dreams. MILAD is a non-profit organization initiated by a group of people with disabilities and with the help of Pastor Sia Siew Chin, in achieving Independent Living, regardless of their background, race, or religion. MILAD was established on 2/11/2017 and registered with the Registry of Societies bearing Registration No. (PPM-005-10-02112017), with its center located in Petaling Jaya SS3.
With proper training and the required assistance provided, we believe people with disabilities are able to attain independent living.
